Hassan Mostafa Early life

Hassan was born and bred in Egypt in 1992. Right from his childhood, he has always been interested in sports, especially bodybuilding. So it was no surprise when he started weightlifting at the age of 17.

As a child, he had a small stature; growing up, he was never considered lean and skinny. According to him, he has always had bigger legs even though he neither exercised nor did any manual work with them.

However, he found his passion in time and started working towards it. He had the passion, the drive and the right motivation. His father, El Shahat Mabrouk was also a bodybuilder.

So, Hassan had always been fascinated by the size of his father and he wanted to be like him. His father noticed his passion in time and thanks to his foresight, he could already see a bright future for his son in bodybuilding. So he encouraged Hassan to start hitting the gym from the age of 17. Hassan trained very hard at the gym, building his body to the best he could be at that time. Not long after, he participated in a local bodybuilding contest weighing 209 pounds and he placed first there.

Hasan’s father was impressed with his son’s dedication and new achievement that he opened a small gym for Hassan to work out and train others. The name of the gym was “Hassan’s Gym”. Hassan operated this gym for almost four years. But the gym was located in a small town just outside of Cairo, but it lacked experienced and knowledgeable coaches and trainers. So there was no one to offer guidance or advice when it was time to compete.

Whenever he was preparing for any contest, Hassan would stay with coaches for the rest of the final months before the competition so that he could be in his best condition. Every trainer and coach he worked with was always left astonished at his genetics and his abilities. He was naturally gifted with the right genetics to excel in bodybuilding.

When he was 23, he competed and won his first major contest in 2014. The contest was the weight division at the IFBB Junior World Championships.

It was at that event that the owner of Gold’s gym in Kuwait picked interest in him. Hassan was offered a job as a trainer at the gym and the owner also promised to sponsor his career as a bodybuilding athlete.

He eventually moved to Kuwait City, where he worked as his “third coach” at Oxygen Gym, he also worked alongside Abdullah Al Otaibi, Ahmad Askar and Ahamad Alniqui. Alniqui coached him throughout till some weeks before the 2019 Tampa Pro.

He earned his IFBB pro card in 2018 and he’s currently residing in Kuwait to better pursue his bodybuilding career. Due to years of intensive workouts and training, Hassan can be classified as a bodybuilder with a monster physique that can easily reach 130kg. This man with a monster-like physique is one of the most talented Egyptian bodybuilders of modern bodybuilding.

Hassan Mostafa’s Bodybuilding Career

Hassan was living in a small town just outside Cairo as a gym owner and trainer. The town was small so there was no one competent enough to coach Hassan for any bodybuilding competitions.

However, in 2014, he entered his first main competition which was the IFBB Junior world championships. At this contest, he met with a life-changing opportunity and he was offered a job as a gym coach in Kuwait City. He grabbed the opportunity and moved to Kuwait City to start working in Gold’s Gym.

In 2018, Hassan competed and won the Amateur Olympia in Kuwait City, just the same way Big Ramy had won the event in 2012. After that, he entered another competition, the Indy Pro where he placed third next to Steve Kuclo who placed first.

Hassan entered another competition, the Tampa Pro Show. Hassan would have had his chance to win the show, but a veteran bodybuilder, Dexter Johnson also competed in that same event and won the show.

Hassan competed again in the 2020 New York Pro where he placed fourth against Iain Valerie. After this show, he was opportuned to be trained and coached by the legendary Flex Lewis to be fit to compete in the 2021 New York Pro.

Hassan Mostafa Training, Nutrition, and Goals

Hassan’s training follows the same process as those of the two men who are both 8 times Mr Olympia, Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman. These men train their entire bodies at once in the space of 3 days. In his words, Hassan said: “I know it’s more popular today to train a muscle group only once a week, but for me, I feel I get more in terms of both size and hopefully more muscle maturity by working the muscles more often”.

Hassan also regulates his training to preserve his joints, sometimes he goes for two weeks with heavier weights and lower reps, and then other times he does more moderate resistance and higher reps in the third week.

His diet is the same as any other bodybuilder. He eats plenty of meat, fish, beef and eggs together with oats and rice. And whenever he wants to include a cheat meal, he opts for sushi.

Then when he’s off the seasons, his meals are made of stuffed crust pizza. There is a particular cheesecake factory that he loves to visit regularly in Kuwait City with his wife.  As for macros, Hassan says he cannot do without carbs; he considers carbs his best friend.

Hassan still has a long way to go and when asked what improvement he would like to make on his body, he said he doesn’t want to get bigger. Instead, in his own words, he said: “My focus is on bringing my upper body up a little bit so that it matches my legs”.

Also when asked if he would like to suspend his leg training for some time as his coach, Flex Lewis and Branch Warren did early in their career, to get a better balance between their upper and lower bodies. Hassan replied that he’s still working on his legs but if he doesn’t get the results he wants, then he might consider a moratorium like his predecessors.

On a final note;

Hassan Mostafa is fast becoming a sensational bodybuilder from the Middle East. Considering the speed and tenacity he’s coming with, it seems like his accomplishments so far are only the tip of the iceberg. And soon, he’ll become one of the top bodybuilders in the open division.

Hassan Mostafa is not only accomplished as a bodybuilder but also as a man too. He is married to the love of his life and he has a 5-year-old daughter.

Hassan Mostafa will be making a lot of appearances in the future, so the world should be ready for what he has to offer.
